sketch, pencil, paper, 20 x 28 cm
Dimension in frame: 43.5 cm x 34 cm.
Work described and signed above the composition: "May 7 Luslawice 1920 JMalczewski" (original, author's signature).
Condition of preservation: very good.
The painting is framed in a brown frame with a beige passe-partout with a gilded inner edge.
The sketch was created in 1920 in Luslawice - a village located in a hilly area on the right bank of the Dunajec River. At the time, Luslawice was home to a stately mansion in which the Malczewski family took an interest.
The artist most likely visited Luslawice only from around 1919, initially spending only holiday months there, and over time staying there for longer periods, lasting from spring through autumn.
